Scroggs Woodland

This Woodland Trust site is a semi-natural ancient woodland just to the south of Kendal and is part of the River Kent SSSI. The narrow woodland features prominently in the landscape, has an abundance of rich indicator ground flora and has excellent public access through 850 metres of permissive footpaths.

During 2006 The Woodland Trust requires funds to enhance the site including repairing, replacing and extending existing footpaths. Monies will also help to restore sections of the dry stone wall boundary, construct entrance stiles and to remove foreign tree species which will boost the woodlands natural biodiversity.
