Recycling

Before you throw anything out... can it be recycled or reused?
Find below some useful contacts and ideas:

Recycling waste

North Lakes- contact Eden Community Recycling on 01768 840259 for collections and schemes in the north of the county.
South Lakes - contact Reclaimed Waste on 01229 775 243 for collections in the south Lakes area.

'Cash for Cans'

Both aluminium cans and aluminium foil can be recycled. However, aluminium cans and foil must always be kept separately from each other, as they are made from slightly different alloys and are recycled separately.
The UK Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation has a recycling site locator to help find your nearest collection point. The site has details of local organisations that will pay cash for your cans, how you can support local community groups, and information on Local Authority recycling programmes. Note that many places take both cans and foil, but not all.
