To join our organisation all we ask for is an annual membership fee from
your businesses together with your commitment to support one of our projects/themes.
Our annual membership fee relates to the size of your business and is split
into six levels of membership, these are:
Each membership level comes with membership benefits. We
will also automatically increase your level of membership depending on
the amount of fundraising you send us every year.
Supporting a conservation project is designed to be as
easy as possible, we can help you find an individual project or you can
support one of our themes. By supporting a theme you can help a number
of different projects in this category. You can then choose one of our
fundraising methods or if you feel these are not right for you we can
help design one that is - it's our speciality.
Here are a few easy ways that you and your guests/customers
can really make a big difference to conservation in Cumbria:
| Opt Out |
A voluntary donation for conservation
is added to the bill (guests/customers should always be given the
option not to pay
it or 'opt out'). This method can be used on any type of bill, whether
for accommodation, a walking holiday or a food bill. £1 per
person is a good starting point for this method. However, of our
existing members have added different sums of money, depending on
the business that they operate. |

|
| Donation Boxes |
We supply you with a locally produced handmade wooden donation
box. You can then encourage your guests/customers to place a donation
in the box when they visit you business. |
| |
|
| Percentage Donation |
Some of our current members have chosen to donate a percentage
of their business profits to conservation. This is an easy way of
fundraising for businesses who are unable to implement an 'Opt Out'
scheme. For example, a shop might choose a particular product. When
this product is bought they will donate 1% of the profits to conservation. |
| |
|
| Sponsored Products |
Other members have developed products that they sell and then donate
a percentage of the profits to conservation. For example, out door
equipment retailer George Fisher of Keswick sells a re useable jute carrier bag. In addition, money will come to the Partnership from
sales of the Lake District edition of the popular Inn
Way guide. |

|
| Donation Envelopes |
This is a new fundraising method which we have recently taken on board. The donation envelopes allow visitors to make any size donation they wish and at the same time make a declaration which will enable us to collect gift aid for their donation. They can be presented to your visitors in the roombrowser or be placed in a prominent place, such as the reception area, of your business. |
